Auf den ersten Blick mag der Bereich "Template Entwicklung" klein und unwichtig aussehen. Für die Umsetzung spezieller Wünsche, die sich mit CSS in Kopf- & Fußzeile oder den Einstellmöglichkeiten des Templates nicht mehr realisieren lassen, ist er jedoch hilfreich. Im allgemeinen wird davon abgeraten, Änderungen am Template vorzunehmen, insbesondere, wenn keine fundierten Kenntnisse in html vorhanden sind. Ein Fehler, der durch eine Templateänderung hervorgerufen wird, ist oft schwer auszumachen und auch der allgemeine Supportservice beschränkt sich auf unveränderte Templates. Alle darüber hinaus gehenden Korrekturaufträge können in der Administration unter Admin -> Premium -> Angebote&Service gebucht werden. Möchte man nur Änderungen in den festgelegten Texten des Forums vornehmen und kommt über die Administration nicht weiter, kann ein Eingriff in die Sprachdatei von nutzen sein, wenn z.B. Elemente neben einem Text erscheinen, oder einfach eine Textpassage editiert werden soll. Hinweis: Das Business-Template bietet für jedes Element eine CSS-Klasse an, mit der man ganz einfach Inhalte austauschen, ändern oder ausblenden kann. |

Der Bearbeitungsbereich der Template Elemente
Sobald man sich eine Templatekopie angelegt (sieheErstellen eines eigenen Templates) und auf [edit] geklickt hat, kommt man auf die eigentliche Template-Element Bearbeitung. Im oberen Bereich finden sich Informationen und Einstellungen z. B. Vererbung globaler Variablen, Unterstützung mehrerer Sprachen usw.
Weiter unten (siehe roter Pfeil) folgt eine Auflistung aller Template Elemente. Durch den Klick auf das gewünschte Template Element wird man zum Quelltext des angeklickten Elements geleitet und kann dort die Änderungen vornehmen.
Der Bearbeitungsbereich für Globale Variablen
In der Box über der Auflistung der Template Elemente finden Sie die Box "Globale Variablen definieren". Mit klick auf den Link öffnen Sie die Liste der globalen Variablen.
Mit Hilfe dieser Variablen können Sie zum Beispiel neue Abfragen oder Platzhalter einbauen. Angezeigt werden die definierten Variablen dann in der Administration unter Layout -> Farben & Einstellungen.

Die Sprachen
Die Sprachdatei finden Sie im Adminmenü unter Template Entwicklung -> Sprachen. Dort können Sie eine Kopie der Originalsprache anlegen und diese nach eigenem Ermessen bearbeiten. Die geänderten Sprachdateien können gespeichert, aktiviert, runtergeladen und in einem anderen Xoborforum wieder hochgeladen werden. Um eine Sprache zu bearbeiten klicken Sie auf edit und ändern die gewünschten Elemente. Genaueres zum Thema Sprachen finden Sie im verlinkten Wikiartikel.
